Healthly Living is Hard

Healthy living is hard, yo.

It shouldn't be as difficult as it is, but the fact remains that in today's world with it's ever hectic expectations on us, living healthy is tough. Just this weekend, the roommate and I made a list of all of the ingredients we'd need to have full week's worth of meals and the grocery shopping alone for that was a headache. On Friday night, we went to Trader Joe's and Fresh and Easy. Saturday saw a side trip to Whole Foods for one item and today was our trip to the local Farmers' Market. And, in the irony that is our modern life, we still have to hit Ralph's for the rest of the items on our list. Not one of our stops had everything we needed.

I feel as though a fair portion of my weekend has been spent in the pursuit of health (which while not a bad thing, was certainly a tiring experience). I wish that our local Farmers' Market was available daily, or at least several times per week...or that I lived close enough to a food co-op for the ease that they offer. However, the reality of the Los Angeles life is that I do not, so I push forth and visit five grocery stores in pursuit of the foods I want to put into my body.

None of the above had anything to do with the preparation or consumption of food, either. Strictly the procurement.

Maybe next weekend will be different.
